Join Purdue University Fort Wayne:Purdue University Fort Wayne is currently seeking a fulltime, onsite HR Generalist/ Talent Acquisition Specialist in our Human Resources and Office of Institutional Equity office. The Talent Acquisition Specialist establishes relationships to implement recruitment and talent acquisition strategies and functions for both internal and external vacancies. Coordinates the recruitment, screening, selection, placement, and hiring of qualified and diverse staff into the organization. This position strives to continuously offer excellence in service with the goal being to make Purdue University Fort Wayne an employer of choice. This position has a starting salary of $46,800.

Primary Responsibilities:**

  • Serves as a liaison between management, staff, and applicants regarding employment policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Create job postings; distribute to various agencies and post on the HR Board.
  • Manage job postings by conducting various selection activities including reviewing resumes, advising departments of procedures and best practices, ensuring posting time frame is met.
  • Evaluates competency, experience, and education of candidates.
  • Accurately and effectively utilizes Applicant Tracking System to source and track candidate activity.
  • Collaborate with departments on language for job postings, advertisements and other related media in an efficient and cost effective manner.
  • Inform applicants about employment process and respond to a variety of inquiries, may assist applicants with the status of their applications.
  • Identify and coordinate employment/recruitment outreach efforts.
  • Support commitments to affirmative action, equal employment opportunity, diversity and related goals.
  • Build relationships with customers and serve as main point of contact for the recruitment function.
  • Effectively promote and grow the talent pipeline though a variety of recruitment functions including social media, job fairs, university and college career days and graduations, and career events targeted for special populations.
  • Communicate employment policies, procedures, forms, manuals, and related materials to ensure understanding and compliance.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of training on employment/recruitment related topics.
  • Evaluate and analyze Employee relations/ retention departures.
  • Implement and administer procedures for criminal conviction records checks (CCRC)
  • Assure compliance with any applicable regulations, federal and state law specific to employment as well as policies of the organization.
  • Develop and implement Employee Experience metrics:30, 60, and 90 days.
  • Serve as a backup to the HR Generalist for Orientation.

Required Qualifications:

A Bachelors degree in Human Resources of a related field.

1 year of demonstrated working experience in employee recruiting.

Knowledgeable in employment related policies/procedures, best practices, and legislation.

Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.

Able to interact with internal and external customers and relate to individuals at all levels.

Able to build consultative relationships with hiring managers ensuring service excellence within all facets of the hiring life cycle.

Excellent computer and related software skills, e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, database, data inquiry, Internet, social media navigation, etc.

Must possess and maintain sufficient knowledge of recruitment and talent acquisition practices.

Able to define and implement creative recruitment strategies.
