This posting is for one Project Controls Supervisor position:
Project Controls Supervisor - This position will be located at the Energy Center office in Birmingham, AL, the GPC Corp Headquarters in Atlanta, GA or the GPC Forest Park office in Forest Park, GA.
JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the supervision and leadership of the Technical Shared Services (TSS) Project Controls Analytics & Reporting team. This includes providing direction and guidance in the development and production of metric reporting at program, portfolio, and project levels to facilitate project execution and informed decision-making; driving innovative analytics solutions that are developed internal to Project Controls and influenced through industry engagement; managing the support of Southern Company Transmission reliability reporting; and ensuring the provisions of technical and administrative support for Project Controls tools and applications. This position will also engage in strategic planning for aspects of project controls and provide performance management for all direct reports.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- College diploma or university degree in an Engineering (from an ABET accredited college or institution), Data Science, or Business field or minimum 7 years equivalent experience preferred
Experience:
Minimum 5 years working directly in project controls/data analytics/project management is required
Experience supervising a team, setting priorities, managing resources, and putting strategic objectives into place is strongly preferred
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is required
Knowledge:
Knowledge of data management techniques
Knowledge of project costing, estimating, and scheduling techniques along with knowledge of tools, methods, and procedures
Knowledge of construction and engineering productivity/earned value processes
Knowledge of project delivery / front end planning process
Knowledge of Primavera – P6 software
Knowledge of all project cost components including engineering, procurement, construction, productivity, and progress measurement
Skills:
Demonstrated leadership, including the ability to motivate a team toward a shared goal
Ability to facilitate and manage data inputs and changes across multiple organizations
Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer Relations: Serves as interface for Project Controls with our stakeholders and customers for data analytics, reporting, and technical support. Implement a communication and continuous improvement plan that fosters a customer-based focus within the team. Proactively investigates shortcomings and unserved needs and prepares recommendations and business cases as appropriate. Holds personnel accountable for delivering promised service levels and assists in preparing plans to achieve service levels.
Innovative Thinking: Proactively look for opportunities to streamline and automate data analytics to increase process efficiency and accuracy. Drive towards a culture of predictive analytics to support continuous improvement of Project Controls. Effectively develop strategies to leverage emerging technologies like artificial intelligence and machine learning.
Industry Expertise: Actively participate in internal and industry user groups to stay abreast of latest visualization tools and analytics techniques. Look for ways to continually develop the team experience and knowledge in data analytics and reporting.
Performance Management: Supervises and manages daily activities of a team of full-time and supplemental direct reports. Achieves superior business results by building an inclusive environment that recognizes the benefits of a diverse staff. Communicates strategic plans to ensure understanding and a shared vision. Identifies skill gaps and oversees development of training plans. Utilizes consistent performance metrics to be used in evaluating staff performance.
