WESTERN CAROLINA COMMUNITY ACTION INC Center Substitute in Forest City, North Carolina

Center Substitute/Early Childhood Educator Substitute Intermittent Salary Range: 8.75 To 16.20 (USD) Hourly ($15 for Bachelor's, $13 for Associates and/or CDA, and so forth)

Position Summary:This position assists in providing high-quality care in WNCSource childrens centers on an as needed basis.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities: Be available to work Monday through Friday (7:30 am 4:30 pm) when needed. Shorter hours also available. Ability to promptly receive, make and return early morning work calls from 6:30 am to 7:00 am. Be willing to drive to the various locations where needed. Keep a calendar with work dates and keep the commitment to scheduled dates. Perform other duties as assigned. Work Relationships and Scope: Reports directly to the Staffing Specialist. This position interacts regularly with families and staff. Access to confidential client information.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

Education/Training:

Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential ($14.50/hr), state awarded certificate that meets or exceeds a CDA ($14.50/hr), or associates degree in Early Childhood Education/related field ($15.50/hr); baccalaureate degree or higher in Early Childhood Education/related field ($17.50/hr). Degree(s) must be from an accredited college recognized by the NC Department of Child Development and Early Education.

Experience: Experience in child development either through working with own children, working with a group of children or child development training. Skills and Abilities: Basic computer skills. Good verbal communication skills and etiquette. Current enrollment in Child Care Division-Criminal History Registry. Ability to pass a health examination and provide a statement of good health annually Negative TB test results

Working Conditions: Job Conditions/Work Location: Work is performed almost exclusively in a classroom environment.

Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods of time, (some walking bending stooping, reaching and occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds).
