Here is what you will be doing :
Perform watch standing duties to include operation, testing, inspection, maintenance, and calibration of electrical systems, engineering, and deck machinery. Other duties may include security rounds, engineering space sanitation, cooking, as necessary line handling operations, and other duties as assigned
Transfer fuel and assist the QMED Engine Watch Officer
Perform engineering duties to include work/training/drills/exercises in enclosed spaces and at heights
Respond to emergency situations including fire, flood, man overboard, and abandon ship
Assist with hook up/disconnect cargo and fuel functions, ballast maintenance, machinery inspection, and maintenance of deck and cargo systems
Report and record maintenance related activities as requested
Here is what we need from you :
USCG Merchant Mariner Credential international and national endorsements:
- Must hold the following International STCW Endorsements:
STCW Basic Safety Training (STCW VI/1),
PSC (STCW VI/2),
Vessel Personnel with Designated Security Duties (VPDSD) (STCW VI/6)
Preferred International Endorsements:
Able Seafarer-Engine (STCW III/5),
RFPEW (STCW III/4),
Must hold the following National Endorsements:
QMED (minimum endorsement - Oiler)
Wiper/Ordinary Seaman,
Steward’s Department (F.H.)
Preferred National Endorsement:
Tankerman Assistant limited to Dangerous Liquid (DL) Cargoes PIC and
Lifeboatman
Must hold a valid TWIC card and U.S. Passport
Education/Experience:
High School diploma
ABS Nautical Systems NS5 experience preferred
Physical Requirements:
Work in confined spaces, carrying heavy tools, climbing and descending ladders
Must have current USCG STCW Medical Certificate, renewed every 2 years
Consistently lift and carry loads at least 50 pounds
