Flint Community Schools Computer Lab Technician in Flint, Michigan

Assignment: Computer Lab Technician (Employer is Edustaff) The Computer Lab Technician is an employee of Edustaff and is responsible for building strong relationships with parents and community service agencies as a positive change between students, schools, and applicable community service agencies.

All applicants will have to apply and pass the Edustaff screening process to be hired. If a placement offer is made, the employment relationship will be considered an "at will" employment  relationship with Edustaff, not the District. There will be no contractual relationship or promise made  concerning your worksite placement at the District. 

Placement: Flint Community Schools (specific school location to be determined) Essential Job Functions (note this is not an exhaustive list of the duties performed for this position): • Coordinate schedules of students and teachers for the purpose of maintaining computerlab operations and activities • Instructs students and teachers in computer lab technology and software applications (e.g. answers questions, keyboarding, specialized programs, etc.) for the purpose of enhancing their understanding of lab operations and reinforcing academy concepts. • Maintains computer hardware and software application inventory for the purpose of ensuring availability of equipment and/or instructional material in computer labs. • Maintains computer lab (e.g. instructional materials, appropriate software, sets up materials for daily activities, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring availability of equipment and programs to enhance the instructional program. • Monitors student activities while in computer lab for the purpose of maintaining a safe environment that is conducive to learning. • Performs routine and preventive maintenance of computer lab and classroom equipment (e.g. dusting, cleaning, virus scanning, creating/clearing internet bookmarks, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of equipment in safe operating condition. • Prepare documentation (e.g. reports, instructions, memos, etc.) for the purpose of providing written support and/or conveying information. • Troubleshoots malfunctions of hardware and/or software applications for the purpose of determining appropriate actions to maintain computer lab operations. • Represent the District and EduStaff in a professional manner by performing all job functions at a satisfactory or above level. • Interact with co-workers, administration, students, parents, and the community in a positive, supportive, and cooperative ways. • Performs other related duties, including special projects, as required or requested, consistent with reasonable expectations for the contracted position.

Qualifications: • High School Diploma or equivalent. • Additional education preferred. • Job related experience preferred. • Ability to perform multiple tasks to meet needs of students and staff • Operating equipment used in computer lab, classroom, and offices including pertinent software applications • Preparing and maintaining accurate records • iPad and Promethean knowledge • Must comply with Student Safety Initiative Legislation • Prior successful demonstrated work experience working with youth an urban community is preferred. • Completion of the required Global Compliance Network online training modules. • Demonstrated record of good attendance and punctuality. • Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Demonstrated ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication. • Must meet criminal history background requirements.
