Job Summary

The Assistant Dean of Students for Student Engagement creates a dynamic student experience with staff who are dedicated to student development. The Assistant Dean creates and implements a vision, strategic direction and oversight for student leadership programs, fraternity and sorority life and student activities. Through these units the Assistant Dean will provide activities and programs that help cultivate a positive co-curricular program fostering student involvement, learning, and personal development for a diverse group of learners.

The Assistant Dean will be expected to work with colleagues to create an engagement model grounded in the Social Change Model of Leadership Development that reinforces UM-Flint's commitment to diversity and inclusion. The Assistant Dean reports directly to the Associate Vice Chancellor & Dean of Students and will assist with policies, standards, and goals for the department which are consistent with the mission and goals of the University and the Division of Student Affairs.
