Aerotek Trailer Technician in Fife, Washington
Job Description
We are looking for a skilled Trailer Technician to join our team. You will be responsible for conducting general preventative maintenance tasks such as electrical repairs, brake adjustments, air systems management, and fluid replacement. Additionally, you will maintain tanker trailers used for transporting various liquids, a task which requires climbing through the hatch to the inside of the trailer. This role calls for proficiency in fabrication and mechanical work, including the dismantling of damaged trailers and the replacement or fabrication of new parts. We are willing to provide welding training to the right candidates. You will also be required to perform aluminum weld preparation, welding, and weld finishing operations to manufacture products according to drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction. This role requires the ability to read blueprint drawings and perform finish grinding applications using manual and power tools.
Hard Skills
Ability to tear down damaged/broken parts and either fabricate a new one or replace it
Comfortable with heights and confined spaces
Mechanical experience with Diesel systems
Proficiency in aluminum welding techniques in all positions and in tight spaces
Ability to read blueprint drawings
Experience with finish grinding applications using manual and power tools

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 7 Month(s) until direct hire.
Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in Fife, Washington.
Shift
Day shift: 7:00am - 3:30pm Mon - Fri
Work Environment
You will be working in an open garage setting which can get messy, especially when inside a tank. Uniforms are provided to help manage this aspect of the job. Although the shop isn't flashy, it is clean and well-equipped.
