EDSI Solutions Workforce Counselor in Feasterville Trevose, Pennsylvania
Scope of Position:
- Provide support and assistance to WIOA program participants in all areas related to gaining and/or retaining employment and career advancement.
Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
- Provide the support that participants need to overcome barriers and reach their employment/educational goals.
- Coordinate with other organizations and schools for participant training.
- Provide linkages and established referral systems with community services and resources.
- Offer appropriate support services as the need arises.
- Prepare for and lead employment workshops and/or individual career counseling in order to help participants address their barriers to employment.
- Monitor participant progress via outreach, at least monthly, in order to ensure successful employment and training outcomes.
- Offer follow-up support services in order to help participants retain employment or educational goals to ensure that performance measures are met.
- Assist in the outreach and recruitment of new participants.
- Explain the program's eligibility requirements to perspective participants.
- Determine program eligibility and ascertain required documentation.
- Complete intake assessments with all eligible participants to determine fit for the program. This includes assessing their motivation, commitment and their basic skill levels.
- Ensure the required enrollment paperwork and documentation is completed and located in the participant files.
- Document services provided in participant files.
- Document basic skills and career assessment information in participant files.
- Maintain data on employment, education, retention and other performance measure requirements.
- Attend all staff meetings in order to contribute to program issues and update on agency issues.
- Attend scheduled in-service training in order to develop professional skills.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Ability to prioritize tasks and document visits and contacts.
- Demonstrated telephone, computer and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain flexibility as needs of contract or contractor require.
- Bachelor's degree in human services, business, education, training or related area is preferred.
- Previous customer service experience required.
- Working knowledge of MS Windows, Word and Excel.
