Summary of Job Duties:\ We are seeking highly motivated individuals for a Research Associate position available in August 2024. The Post Doctoral Fellow will provide support for various research projects and will be co-supervised by Professors Shui-Qing (Fisher) Yu and Wei Du. The research topics include but are not limited to: Group-IV semiconductor optoelectronic device development including lasers and photodetectors; photonics integration technology on Si photonics platform. The successful candidate will mainly work on conducting research, helping in day-to-day operation of the lab, and assisting faculty to supervise graduate students.\ Regular, reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.\ Minimum Qualifications:\ Ph.D. in electrical engineering, physics, or material science with an emphasis on solid state electronics from an accredited institution of higher education, conferred by the start of employment\ Preferred Qualifications:\ At least three years of postdoctoral experience in Group-IV photonics area\ At least three years of experience in semiconductor infrared lasers and/or photodetectors, including device design, fabrication, and characterization\ Experience in material characterization including X-Ray diffraction analysis, transmission electron microscopy, photoluminescence spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, etc.\ Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:\ Knowledge of semiconductor material property, optoelectronic device physics\ Willingness to and take initiative to learn new concepts\ Experience of device characterization.
