Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Preventative Maintenance Planner to join our team! In this role you will get to contribute to the safe, efficient, and profitable operation of a mine site remediation project.

This is a fixed-term position with the estimated duration of 3 - 6 months. Work will be done on site in Faro, Yukon and will require travel to site on a rotational basis for candidates that are not local.

What You’ll Be Doing:

As a Maintenance Planner you will be accountable for building the work order data base that will align with our routine scopes of work, which is a key part in the implementation of our new computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) system “Maintenance Connection” (MC).

The successful candidate will be accountable for generating planning work orders for a multidisciplinary team ranging from Electrical , Mobile Equipment, Mechanical, Carpentry, Welding, Millwrights, and our water treatment operations. You will also be building standard material associations within the maintenance program.

Additionally, in this position you will:

  • Plan activities for the Faro Mine remediation Project.

  • Prepare standard materials tools and equipment associations based the planned package.

  • Adhere to maintenance business processes as outlined in Maintenance Planning and Control (MPC) by using approved systems (Maintenance Connection.), tools, best practices and standards.

  • Establish and maintain work relationships with the various key plant stakeholders including superintendents, supervisors, other schedulers, planners, crew members, etc.

  • Execute the “Planning” element of the process for all types of work orders - systematic and non-systematic maintenance. This includes shutdowns (PMP) and external resource-related work.

  • Ensure work orders are planned with an emphasis on safety, clearly noting potential hazards and the mitigations.

  • Provide weekly updates on the model work order development progress .

What Required Skills You’ll Bring:

  • Grade 12 completed or GED equivalency with equivalent experience is required.

  • 5+ years of relevant/trade experience

  • Comfortable with working in remote locations in northern communities, both indoors and outdoors

  • Valid class 5 driver’s license.

  • The ideal candidate will have good computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office Pro, and computerized maintenance platforms.

  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to work collaboratively, professionally and effectively in a team environment.

  • Be self-motivated, adaptable, and have excellent time management skills.

  • Proven understanding of safe work practices and mitigating risk.

What Desired Skills You’ll Bring:

  • College diploma or university degree in a related industrial field or a university degree in a related engineering discipline is preferred.

  • Valid Heavy Duty Equipment Technician, or Millwright or Electrician trade certificate is preferred.

  • 3+ years of experience working with any CMMS in a Planner, or Scheduler role is preferred.
