Purpose of the Job

  • Respond to reactive works associated to Fabric engineers position.

  • Ensure maintenance tasks associated to Fabric engineers position are completed within agreed timescales.

  • Liaise with Clients representatives with respect to maintenance & repair tasks

  • Undertake site surveys & produce Works Requests, Method Statements & Risk Assessments for planned works

  • Repairs floor and wall coverings

  • Responsible for ceiling tile repairs and replacements

  • Responsible for statutory inspections of water systems & H&S items.

  • Utilise PDA to complete works, key communications & updates

  • Undertake minor works projects.

  • Ensure all works are carried out safely and in accordance with Health and Safety at Work Regulations

  • In addition to the above duties you will be expected to undertake all reasonable tasks as directed by the DC Day supervisor.

Key responsibilities are as follows:

  • Point of Contact for fabric/plumbing Works/Request on site.

  • Undertake monthly Eye wash, Spill kits, First aid, Ladders and gantry inspections as per CMMS.

  • Undertake monthly water systems statutory inspections as per CMMS.

  • Undertake monthly site stores stock take of Critical/Non Critical Spares.

  • Undertake a quarterly inventory of COSHH.

  • Assist with subcontractor hosting.

  • Liaise with DC Day supervisor on PPM scheduling and alignment and assist with review and submission of Annual PPM Planners.

  • Liaise with DC Day supervisor on upkeep of site Logbooks, ensuring statutory compliance records are maintained.

  • Having a good working knowledge of health and safety legislation and bring any shortfalls observed to the attention of the relevant people

  • Liaise positively and professionally with Client representatives, contractors, and customers.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation.

  • Ensure a professional image of the company is presented to clients and visitors and ensure excellence in customer service is delivered and always promoted.

  • Carry out any other duties deemed reasonable by the line manager.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Previous Fabric, plumbing experience • Able to co-ordinate and manage multiple works, end-to-end across a diverse and complex site.

  • Proven track record in the development of positive contractor / client relations and communications.

  • Work within agreed systems and processes and maintain accurate records.

  • Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are adhered to for all tasks to ensure safe working practices and carry out Dynamic Risk Assessments where required.

  • City & Guilds or NVQ Equivalent in plumbing

  • Current UKL driver’s license

  • PC literate

  • Good Customer relationship skills

  • Understand and interpret technical drawings/instructions / processes

  • Able to organise self to manage assigned tasks, determine material requirements

  • Experience of H & S procedures & requirements. COSHH, Working at Heights, Risk Assessment etc

  • Health & Safety Qualified i.e. IOSH and/or NEBOSH

  • Willing to work over & above contractual hours.
