Description

Friedman Real Estate seeks to hire a Director to oversee, direct and supervise a team of professionals who currently provide property and asset management services to a portfolio of office, industrial and retail properties located throughout the Metro Detroit area. The ideal candidate for this role is an individual with 10+ years of property management experience with 5+ years of experience as a leader of people/teams. This is a high-profile position that will be based out of the company’s headquarters in Farmington Hills, Michigan.

Responsibilities:

  • Leadership

  • Leading, managing and mentoring a team of approximately 10 property management professionals including property/portfolio managers, maintenance technicians and building engineers.

  • Establishing annual goals for each team member and the properties that they manage and providing guidance, oversight and supervision to ensure that the goals are achieved in a routine manner.

  • Operations

  • Establishing best practices and standard of service to be provided by the assigned property/portfolio management team.

  • Conducting periodic site visits/inspections to ensure that a consistent standard of service is being delivered at each property across the portfolio.

  • Assuming and maintaining financial accountability for the assigned portfolio including review and approval of operating and capital budgets.

  • Achieving the highest possible net operating income for each asset in the portfolio through the implementation of effective cost controls, revenue maximization and delinquency management plans.

  • Tenant/Owner Relations

  • Managing tenant relationships throughout the assigned portfolio and assisting property/portfolio management team with significant tenant challenges and opportunities.

  • Reporting regularly to property/portfolio owners regarding the status of operations.

    Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of multi-site property management experience.

  • 5+ years of experience as a leader of people/teams.

  • Significant experience with budgeting, financial management, team development, performance management and leasing.

  • Strong technical understanding of building structural and mechanical systems.

  • Ability to problem solve and make strategic decisions.
