Position SummaryAetna is recruiting a Lead Director on the Medicaid Actuarial Growth and Strategy team. As Lead Director, you will play a crucial role in driving profitable growth for Aetna's $15B+ Medicaid business. In the role, you will have the opportunity to engage with stakeholders from Actuarial, Finance, Medicaid Operations, Government Relations, and other areas, as well as with Medicaid Leadership. Some of the position's key responsibilities include:

  • Act as primary Actuarial representative for Medicaid's business development activities, especially supporting State Medicaid RFP responses; facilitate financial opportunity sign-off for all RFP opportunities; lead process of identifying financial risks and opportunities for each RFP.

  • Develop analysis to identify trends in Medicaid Plan membership growth and duration; identify opportunities and collaborate on strategies for profitable growth.

  • Identify Medicaid capitation rate advocacy opportunities; develop analyses to size potential impact; support Plan Actuarial teams in State communication.

  • Develop, create, monitor, and explain Medicaid-wide impact of key policy changes or macroscopic industry tends.

  • Develop ad hoc analyses to identify and understand emerging cost trends; support Plan and Plan actuaries in developing strategies to mitigate unexpected cost increases.

In this position, you will manage a small team of actuarial analysts who support the key responsibilities above. To be successful, you will need an ability to risk-assess complex problems and recommend solutions and communicate effectively with leadership teams. Being a strong people leader and collaborating effectively with stakeholders across the organization will also be essential to success.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of actuarial or relatable experience

  • ASA or FSA credential

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in Medicaid, and experience with project management is preferred but not required

  • Diverse experiences that demonstrate an ability to learn quickly

  • Adaptability and ability to prioritize effectively

  • Past experience as a people leader

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree is required

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$100,000.00 - $231,500.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
