Job Title: Tooling Engineer

Actalent is looking for a Tooling Engineer to join a top commercial aviation company locally! This is a fully on-site role in Everett, WA for the duration of a 12-month contract.

Job Description

As a Tooling Engineer, you will develop program and project requirements, create highly complex equipment and tooling concepts, and design solutions to support the integration of the production system for aerospace products. You will lead the creation and modification of tooling definitions at the program level, execute project plans, and partner with Procurement to meet program schedule, cost, and quality targets. Your role ensures compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors, and regulatory requirements. Additionally, you will lead gated reviews, develop plans for production readiness, preventative maintenance, and spares, and implement work-arounds while maintaining configuration of hardware, software, and documentation. Your day-to-day activities will include investigating and developing equipment and tooling concepts, participating in design reviews, creating specifications, and providing technical support for engineering changes.

Responsibilities

• Investigates and develops basic to moderately complex equipment and tooling concepts and specifications to satisfy aerospace product design and build requirements.

• Participates in design reviews collects design requirements creates and revises drawings and models to support the build plan.

• Creates specifications purchase requests and usage instructions for equipment and tooling.

• Self-checks designs for compliance with safety producibility maintainability reliability ergonomic factors and regulatory requirements.

• Develops and documents equipment and tooling inspection and usage instructions preventative maintenance plans and supports user training development.

• Researches designs to create and revise usage instructions. Provides technical support for engineering changes and discrepancies by investigating problems and analyzing data to identify solutions.

• Maintains hardware and software configuration. Supports the disposition of equipment and tooling.

Required Skills

• Advanced technical education in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

• Experience with design and revision of drawings and models- CATIA/SolidWorks/ other CAD modeling software

• GDT - Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing

• Working to industry standards.

• Ability to create and revise usage instructions and preventative maintenance plans.

• Proficiency in maintaining hardware and software configuration.

Education/Experience

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years ‘related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years ‘related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience, 18 years' related work experience, etc.).

This is a 12month contract position.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Everett, Washington.

Work Environment

This role requires a strong presence in the factory, interacting with various teams and supporting the production system directly. You will be part of a team that values high responsibility and adherence to safety standards
