ASM Global Event Security in Evansville, Indiana

ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has immediate openings for Event Security at Old National Events Plaza. This position is responsible maintaining high security standards before, during and after events, including theatre shows, conventions, trade shows, etc.

ESSENTIAL DUTIRES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Ensure guests feel welcomed by greeting guests to the building in a friendly, professional manner.

  • Operate a walkthrough magnetometer/metal detecting wand to screen guests, employees and contractors as needed.

  • Accurately check all guest bags as they enter the facility, to determine whether items contain objects that warrant further investigation.

  • Maintain restricted and barricaded areas for security purposes.

  • Verify credentials to ensure control of access into restricted areas.

  • Interact with Old National Events Plaza patrons, vendors and employees in a courteous and professional manner.

  • Monitor the crowd during events.

  • Respond immediately and professionally to guest disturbances/incidents.

  • Provide assistance to guests during emergency situations, such as sheltering in place and evacuations of the building.

  • Works cooperatively with other departments and vendors within the facility.

  • Answers guests' questions in a knowledgeable, helpful and professional manner.

  • Consistently and continually enforce facility policies and procedures relative to prohibited items, disruptive guests, etc.

  • Perform other duties as required to the satisfaction of supervisors and management.

  • Exhibit exemplary conduct and appearance while on duty.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

  • Previous customer service experience or experience in guest relations is preferred.

  • Ability to listen and follow instructions.

  • Ability to listen effectively, take and execute directions as given.

  • Ability to remain calm and focused during times of stress.

  • Work independently, exercising judgment and initiative to diffuse situations.

  • Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, co-workers, exhibitors, patrons and others encountered in the course of employment.

  • Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.

COMPUTER SKILLS

For use of our scheduling system, the ability to access a computer with Internet access is a plus.

DRESS CODE

Employees will be required to wear the company issued polo, black pants and black shoes for every shift.

HOURS OF WORK AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Travel not applicable

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including, but not limited to days, nights, weekends and holidays.

  • Employees will be expected to meet acceptable attendance standards for those events for which they are scheduled.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move around the facility, including walking long distances and stairs; to stand for long hours during events; work outside with exposure to extreme heat or weather conditions; talk and hear; lift or move up to 50 pounds. This position may be exposed to moderate to extreme noise during events.
