Click HERE to view our Benefits page.HIRING CONTACT: Aaron Johnston, (903) 340-6356PHYSICAL WORK ADDRESS: Purtis Creek State Park, 14225 FM 316 Eustace, TX 75124 GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Under the direction of the Park Superintendent, this position performs complex (journey-level) maintenance and construction supervisory work and is responsible for the daily operation, maintenance, and repair of facilities, grounds, utilities and equipment all associated administrative duties as related to the maintenance functions within Purtis Creek State Park. Supervises, trains and provides leadership to classified, hourly, and volunteer staff. Operates Park water and wastewater system. Performs daily routine preventative maintenance (cleaning/inspecting) of facilities and grounds. Duties include but are not limited to mowing, trimming, garbage collection, cleaning restrooms, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, mechanical repairs and vehicle maintenance. Operates and maintains various types of equipment including hand tools, power tools, mowers, tractors, heavy equipment, and trucks. Assists with enforcing park rules, interpretive programs and special events. Prepares reports and serves as primary purchaser for supplies and materials related to the field operations. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Performs additional duties as assigned. Experience: Three years of facility, equipment or grounds maintenance experience; Two years of experience as a supervisor or team leader, which may include oversight of paid staff, volunteers, or alternative workforce. NOTE: Experience may have occurred concurrently. Licensure: Applicant must possess a valid State drivers license at time of employment. Must possess or be able to obtain within one year of employment, a class D Water and Wastewater license issued by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
