Eaton Corporation Waste Water Treatment Operator in Euclid, Ohio

Eaton’s IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a Waste Water Treatment Operator.

The hourly rate for this position is $33.09 per hour. The hours for second shift are as follows; 5:30 pm - 2:00 am.

Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What you’ll do:

The Fuel and Motion Control Systems Division of Eaton’s Aerospace Group has an opening for a Waste Treatment Operator on 2nd shift. This position is based in Euclid, OH.

The Euclid facility has approximately 400 employees and is a leader in the design, development, manufacture and delivery of Aerospace Fuel Pumping components, systems and services to the global aftermarket and OEM markets.

The Waste Treatment Operator will be responsible for operating waste treatment systems, which includes analyzing of all flows in systems, treating and disposing of all waste products in system in the prescribed manner as set forth in operating instructions and Standard Work procedures. This individual will assist other departments and operators on proper operational procedures mandated by MESH requirements. In addition, this individual will perform housekeeping and other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Essential Functions:

• Knowledgeable of all governmental regulations impacting the treatment and disposal of hazardous materials and the transportation of such materials.

• Operate and maintaining all waste treatment equipment including batch operations, reusable water systems, dewatering equipment and automatic computer-controlled equipment. Conduct field, chemical analyses and instrumentation monitoring on all sewer outfalls.

• Perform a variety of hazardous transportation functions, including inspecting all hazardous waste trucks, hook-ups, piping, tanks, and pumps, placarding, shipping papers and the writing and signing of hazardous waste manifests meeting EPA/DOT regulations.

• Responsible for meeting all EPA requirements on handling and disposal of hazardous waste/substances. Comply with Standard Work description and Waste Treatment Operations as defined per the MESH requirements.

• Inspect, maintain, disassemble/reassemble, clean and repair various types of equipment such as central oil/quench oil, degreasers, coolant systems, stills, filters, pumps, reactors, piping distribution to oil, solvents, acid, alkali and jet fuel processes.

• Maintaining logs, records, files, charts or other documentation as prescribed by governing agencies. Liaison to City of Euclid for sampling requirements.

• Participating as a member of an Emergency Response Team, equipped with a variety of safety equipment to aid in evacuation programs, hazardous spills and reactive fume and odor control.

• Required to participate in job-related periodic training, educational programs or seminars, and obtain required agency certification.

• Chemical analyses and additions, inspection, operating, cleaning, repair and maintenance of recirculating water cooling tower systems.

• Operate forklift or other equipment as necessary, to ensure proper handling of materials or product.

• Meet Standard Work description and Wastewater operations instructions as defined by MESH.

• Must be able to work with EHS, WT Manager, Supervisor and other site personnel in maintaining environmental compliance based on our permits

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.

• Complete an Eaton approved training program within 30 days from being on the code.

• Minimum of four (4) years in Chemical Processing Experience such as Plating and Waste Water Treatment.

• Capable of working with hazardous chemicals and waste material including respirator requirements.

• Must be familiar with RCRA, DOT and HAZMAT regulations.

• Knowledgeable of chemicals such as acids and bases along with heavy metals.

• Be able to climb ladders and use multiple types of tools for process maintenance.

• Have good mechanical and electrical aptitude to repair pumps and other mechanical devices associated with waste water processing.

• Knowledge of computer-controlled devices used in waste water treatment equipment.

• Must reside within a 50-mile radius of work location; no relocation benefit is provided.

• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
