Who will you be working with?

How will you make a difference?

The Lead Manufacturing Specialist plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes in the industrial plan. The Lead Manufacturing Specialist develops solutions for production concerns, integrates cost/benefit analysis, identification of strengths and weaknesses within the production process. In this role, you will utilize your experience and expertise to solve problems, drive process adherence, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and can affect short-term and some long-term business goals.

What we want to know about you?

Do you have:

• Minimum two current years’ experience in a manufacturing industry

• Bachelor’s degree or technical degree preferred

• Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing techniques and processes

• Strategic and creative thinking to analyze issues that may arise and create solutions

• Basic shop math skills in all units of measure, along with ability to read and use gauges and measuring instruments

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while having a high degree of attention to details.

• Knowledge of production/materials control system

• Understanding of continuous improvement, lean manufacturing concepts and production schedules preferred

• Strong organizational skills

• Demonstrates effective communication skills and interpersonal skills

• Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to influence, motive, coach, and drive accountability

What will your typical day look like?

• Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods

• Review and analysis of space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency

• Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods

• Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards

• Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions

• Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, and other considerations to facilitate production processes

• Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements process changes and improvements.

Regularly required to operate a variety of automated office machines which includes a computer, printer, copy machine, calculator, telephone, etc. Must be able to move or carry objects or materials.
