Job Overview:

Trinitas Medical Center is looking for a Director of the WIC Program based in Elizabeth, NJ.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Master s Degree in nutrition, public health, administration or a related field

  • Registered Dietitian with a BA/BS in nutrition or related field

  • Experience working with grants, SAGE

  • 2+ years of WIC administration experience

Certifications and Licenses Required:

  • Registered Dietitian

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Shift working, 9:00 5:00 each day

  • Days to work

  • FT

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for grant preparation and implementation of WIC services at the sponsor agency

  • Serves as Liaison between the NJWIC and RWJBH/TRMC

  • Establishes program goals in areas of caseload, nutrition, breastfeeding, outreach and as designated by community needs assessment

  • Uses System Administration Grants Electronically - prepare grants and revisions according to guidelines,

  • Prepares purchases justifications requisitions according to NJWIC guidelines and the organization,

  • Establishes/ Processes program agreements required to ensure provision WIC services,

  • Maintains contractual documents as required for fiscal year,

  • Prepares and orders equipment and supplies,

  • Establishes staffing needs,

  • Conducts needs assessment and establishes program objectives, evaluation, and monitors compliance,

  • Equipment inventory and assignment is maintained,

  • Caseload Management - Establishes number of participates to be served during the three year grant period and makes adjustments as based on food dollar funding and/or administrative funding,

  • Establish caseload goals and revise as needed,

  • Forecast projected funding requirements,

  • Secures space for the operation of services for the entire service area,

  • Plans office layout and service coordination,

  • Works with local Health departments to coordinate services for target areas,

  • Prepares for space lease agreements and subcontracts under the provisions of the grant,

  • Develops job descriptions and plans staffing requirements,

  • Completes employee evaluations and trainings,

  • Completes conflict of interest/separation of duties document annually,

  • Completes continuous time reports,

  • Develops annual outreach plan and submits required reports,

  • Works with community partners,

  • Develop community resource listing for making referrals, website, Facebook, participant portals and advisements are developed and monitored,
