What’s a typical day as a Machine Maintenance Technician? You’ll be:

• Performing a variety of skilled maintenance work, including painting, electricity, plumbing, air conditioning, or carpentry

• Reading work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment requiring repair or maintenance

• Dismantling machines and removing parts for repair, using hand tools, chain falls, jacks, or hoists

• Reassembling machines after the completion of repair or maintenance work

• Starting machines and observing mechanical operation to determine efficiency and detect problems

• Lubricating or applying adhesives or other materials to machines, machine parts, or other equipment, according to specified procedures

• Inventorying and requisitioning machine parts, equipment, and other supplies to maintain stock

• Collecting and discarding worn machine parts and other waste per company and environmental regulations

• Collaborating with other workers to repair or move machines, machine parts, or equipment

• Assisting with managing the plant’s safety and environmental programs

This job might be an outstanding fit if you:

• Have a high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

• Have one to two years of related experience in machine maintenance

• Possess a certification or license in a maintenance or mechanical oriented field (preferred)

• Have basic computer skills including Excel and Word

• Can properly handle equipment, materials, and supplies in accordance with safety rules and regulations

• Understand "G" & "M" code programming

• Can operate a variety of complex equipment in an area of specialization which requires accuracy and specialized skill

• Have the ability to pass a background check and drug screen

• Can wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety-toed boots as needed per position
