TPWD MISSION To manage and conserve the natural and cultural resources of Texas and to provide hunting, fishing and outdoor recreation opportunities for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations. No. 1, El Paso, TX 79938 GENERAL DESCRIPTION: This position will assist with maintaining trails, contributing to other park maintenance needs and visitor orientations in a unique environment with sensitive natural and cultural resources. Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, this position performs entry-level building maintenance and construction work and is responsible for assisting in the operation of Hueco Tanks State Park and Historic Site. Duties include but are not limited to: trail maintenance and erosion control projects, landscaping, groundskeeping, cleaning, maintenance and repairs to facilities, buildings, equipment, vehicles and grounds. Operates various types of equipment to include mowers, trimmers, power tools, vehicles and other equipment as needed. Performs general visitor assistance including visitor orientation briefing and providing of information on park rules and regulations. Assists with agency and site programs to include safety and natural and cultural resource protection. Prepares required reports. Works under close supervision, with minimal latitude for the use of independent judgment. Performs other duties as assigned. NOTE: Temporary position contingent upon funding with fluctuating full-time/part-time hours based on operational needs. Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Completion of 8th grade. Experience: Experience in facility, equipment, trail and/or grounds maintenance.
