Position Description:

The Enterprise IT Business Analyst II scope of responsibility includes understanding the business goals and processes of Texas Tech departments, ability to use this knowledge to document business processes and serve as a liaison between central IT and functional departments assisting in support of software applications. Additional responsibilities include collecting, analyzing and developing data relative to business areas, assisting in implementation and configurations of software applications, and suggesting improvements in business processes as automation is implemented. The IT Business Analyst will document project definitions and business needs for automation use by the programming staff.

Major/Essential Functions:

  • Provide administrative support, management, maintenance and training related to the curriculum applications, projects and other third party systems in a courteous/professional manner by troubleshooting and evaluating complexities, creating and maintaining system forms, workflows, and monitoring through work orders until resolved.

  • Identify requirements by establishing rapport with stakeholders/end users to understand the service needs of the educational school programs and departments, performs analysis, create and maintain documentation, and propose potential solutions by the expected deadlines defined by supervisor for projects and other requisites.

  • Produce and maintain appropriate documentation of applications change requests adhering to TTUHSC IT documentation format standards to manage the analysis, requirements, timelines, target dates, and recommendations related to service projects for educational school programs and departments and/or Academic Technology tasks and projects.

  • Provide assistance and training/orientation to school programs faculty, students, and department staff on internal and external curriculum platform, including in-classroom room exams, and other technical support where required by the application end users.

  • Analyze the business process to improve and streamline the educational school programs’ data, system flows, and reporting through data analysis, assessments, recommendations, documentation, testing changes or upgrades of implemented solutions, and providing aggregate data to assist staff with reporting tools or other required platforms.

  • Assist with the implementation of third party applications/tools by communicating with vendors, setting up demos, providing requirements analysis, documentation and support on proposed or deployed systems and hardware to meet educational school programs, departments, and/or Academic Technology's goals and objectives.

  • Adhere to all TTUHSCEP policies, procedures and processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SharePoint, Microsoft Office products, and/or other Higher Education curriculum applications.

  • Experience with business analysis reporting tools such as Crystal Reports, Tableau and/or Microsoft Power BI is desired.

  • Experience with SQL queries and reporting is a plus. -Understanding of computer programming and database design through education and/or experience is desired, and /or testing applications. -Experience working directly with end users is a plus.

  • Experience with Banner/Cognos queries and reporting is a plus.

  • Specific or specialized technical skills, as appropriate to the area and/or team.
