POSITION SUMMARYThe Buyer I Surgery Center is responsible for ordering stock or non-stock hospital supplies, including processing requisitions, researching products, entering data, follow-up on back orders, selecting vendors and maintaining up-to-date information on products. The Buyer I reinforces with customers, the Supply Chain Services functions and procedures. The Buyer I will provide other services as requested by Management in support of departmental objectives and has the ability to multitask and manage time expectations.This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to team work and cooperation. The Buyer I upholds all AtlantiCare values.QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION: High School Diploma required. Associates degree in Procurement preferred.LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Certified Materials Resources Professional Certification preferred.EXPERIENCE: Minimum 0 years Healthcare and/or purchasing experience. Experience with an emphasis on Supply Chain computer systems preferred. Experience with both Microsoft Word and Excel applications required.PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONSDemonstrates the technical competencies as established on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool. Demonstrates effective communication skills. Demonstrates ability to perform basic financial calculations and spreadsheet navigation. Exhibits strong critical reasoning skills.WORK ENVIRONMENTThis position requires repetitive motion, hearing, pushing, reaching, and reading, seeing, speaking, standing and walking a majority of the time.
