Sr. Technical Writer
ATEC is looking for a Senior Technical Writer to support the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA's) Second Level Engineering (SLE) Terminal team.

The person in this position will be a highly responsible, team-oriented individual with a strong work ethic and a self-starter. Ability to act independently to research and resolve problems. Excellent interpersonal skills; able to rapidly develop positive customer and team relationships and possess communication skills, including the ability to develop analytical documents. Responsibilities will include knowledge and support of the Terminal Second-Level Engineering programs and systems.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
With limited supervision, using available tools, develop information system security documents to support the Authorization to Operate (ATO) for Terminal Second-Level Engineering systems.
Work with the engineering team for each system to support resolution of security issues.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Work under general guidelines and objectives with limited supervision.
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Possess strong organizational skills and some knowledge of National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Risk Management Framework (RMF), Federal Information Security Modernization Act (FISMA); and NIST security controls.
Knowledge or and/or experience with the following software, vendors, and equipment: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Visio; Adobe Acrobat; Linux; Windows; Cisco Routers; Switches; Firewalls; Hubs
EDUCATION/YEARS of EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Associates degree and fifteen (15) years of related work experience
OR
- Bachelor?s Degree with a minimum of twelve (12) years of related work experience
SECURITY REQUIREMENTS:
US Citizenship or documented proof of eligibility to work in the US
Applicants selected will be subject to a government investigation
Has been living in the US for at least the past 3 years
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Works indoors in office conditions primarily sitting/standing for prolonged periods
PAY RANGE:
- $73,000 ? $85,000
