Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• 2 years of experience in telecommunications at carrier scale working with optical network infrastructure, transmission systems, layer2/3 routers, and data services.

• 2 years of experience in telecommunications, OSP, ISP, AC/DC power systems, and relay rack/cabinet/cage construction.

• Experience with fiber types and their application, physical fiber characteristics, and standard testing tools (e.g., OSA, BERT, OTDR).

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in telecommunications, particularly at carrier class scale with a knowledge of large optical network infrastructure, transmission systems, layer2/3 routers and data services.

• Experience working in a data center environment.

• Experience with local regulatory standards, procedures, and requirements around network infrastructure installations.

• Experience with managing or directing field operation technicians, engineers, contractors or vendors in a Data center working environment.

• Ability to travel up to 50% as needed.

As a Network Implementation Engineer, you will support our efforts to execute deployment, maintenance, and operations of private data networks worldwide. In this role, you will build a reliable, cost-effective, and scalable network to support all of our current and future customers and users globally. You will work with Technical Program Managers, Network Engineers, Design and Infrastructure Engineers, Field Engineers within Google, as well as construction and telecommunications vendors and contractors, all to position the team and organization for success.Behind everything our users see online is the architecture built by the Technical Infrastructure team to keep it running. From developing and maintaining our data centers to building the next generation of Google platforms, we make Google's product portfolio possible.
