We’re looking for dynamic individuals to help build our new data solutions, serving not just reporting, but insights to help drive our customer’s businesses forward.

 What you’ll do

We’re looking for someone who has led a new data product before and can assist us to deliver the next generation of data products to our customers.  You will own the roadmap to deliver a cloud data solution, understand how to deliver for the future whilst also delivering the required features of our replacement data solution.

You'll manage multiple interdependent roadmaps, taking our Board's vision and delivering that across several product streams – responding to technological advances, customer needs, industry trends, market disruptions and other influences (including internal stakeholders)

You'll translate the vision into actionable strategic plans or directions of travel with a 2-5-year focus, that can be and are followed by the development teams.

You'll interact with 100 techies in your stream of work and act as the trusted product expert.

Drive the future development of products, by leading a team of Business Analysts and Product Owners.

Support Zonal’s growth plans to be £100M business– by providing insight into the market trends and how this affects the product vision.

Main Duties

  • Lead the introduction of new data technologies into our business working alongside our other data team

  • Gather and define the roadmap to deliver the required features for now and the future

  • You will likely manage multiple interdependent roadmaps delivering the Board's product vision

  • Disseminate the vision and the associated product strategic plan, responding to the trends and technological advances in the market.

  • Act as trusted product expert. Lead the fulfilment of the product strategic plan through careful planning and collaboration with the Delivery teams

  • Provide reports and updates to the Product Steering Group and Executives.

  • Lead Product Owners, Business Team members and Delivery teams to ensure objectives are current and responsive to change in direction and demand.

  • Participation (from a Product Management perspective) in new customer meetings / sales process to ensure product team are involved and can help shape the product set and plan for future demand and brief the product teams accordingly.

  • Participation in customer strategy sessions where relevant to the product line.

  • Analysis of competitor products and Zonal’s position against them.

  • Analysis of market, sector and consumer trends and propose appropriate actions.

  • High level interaction with strategic suppliers who contribute to the product strategy plan

Who you are

• Someone who can see beyond the immediate requirements and looks for opportunity in challenge.

• Someone with experience of apps and the migration from legacy to microservices

• Someone technical - with experience of backend/frontend and full stack development

• An expert at planning.

• Ability to multi-task, balancing customer, product strategy and technical priorities required to deliver an excellent product.

• A strong commercial grounding with a technical flair.

• Innovative mind with a flair for product management including usability, efficient design, rich functionality and technical excellence, through conception, iteration and enhancement.

• A problem solver – always able to find a way to get something done.

• Have strong planning and organisational skills.

Qualifications/Experience

• At least 5 years in a product manager role

• Experience of running multiple product backlogs

• Desirable experience in hospitality, retail, or travel sectors.
