We are seeking a Per Diem Clinical Pharmacist to cover afterhours, weekend, and holiday on-call coverage for our Optum Women’s Health Obstetric Homecare (OBHC) Service Program providing clinical pharmacy support for high risk obstetric patients referred by their obstetric providers.

Optum PHM Clinical Pharmacy currently supports the hyperemesis gravida service and provides general drug information assistance for the OB Homecare clinical staff.

The successful candidate will have clinical practice patient care experience in providing healthcare professionals with evidence-based pharmacotherapy recommendations for a high risk obstetric population. Understanding of regulatory standards including The Joint Commission (TJC) standards related to medication management and interdisciplinary services is essential for success.

Scheduled to cover as needed Monday to Thursday (5:00pm-8:00am CST), weekends Friday (5:00PM CST) to Monday (8:00AM CST) and major holidays 12:00AM-12:00AM CST with included coverage evening and morning after major holiday.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Be available to receive and respond to afterhours, weekend, and holiday telephone calls for OB Homecare clinical staff

  • Provide verbal medication-related guidance then document clinical assessment and recommendations in program application

  • Maintain competency in organization and Service Program policies and processes through receiving and reviewing regularly providing communications and resources

Required Qualifications:

  • Active, unrestricted license to practice as a Pharmacist in employee's state of residence

  • 5+ years of experience as a licensed Pharmacist

  • 3+ years of experience of clinical pharmacy practice experience with obstetric population

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of homecare pharmacy practice experience including regulatory expectations

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
