QUALIFICATIONS:

1. A working knowledge of cleaning, light/general maintenance, grounds keeping methods, materials and equipment.

2. Three or more years of experience as a custodian, groundskeeper or maintenance person.

3. High School Diploma or GED, and the ability to communicate in verbal and written form.

4. Have a valid Maryland drivers license.

5. Additional qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate.

6. Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor

Job Goal: To provide students, parents and staff with safe attractive, clean and well-maintained

grounds and buildings in which to learn, play and develop.

Essential Performance Responsibilities:

1. Maintains all grounds and sports fields including cutting grass, trimming hedges, weeding, etc.

2. Provides floater coverage for custodians.

3. Minor and preventive maintenance, including:

   1. Lawn and garden equipment,

   2. Lubrication of all motors, fans, pumps, etc.

   3. Replace light ballasts and ballasts, starters, electrical switches and receptacles,

   4. Check and replace belts on all motors and fans,

   5. Clean and change filters,

   6. Check and repair fences,

   7. Replace door glass, and

   8. Assist custodians with window glass replacement.

Terms of Employment:

Twelve-month work year Salary to be established by the Board

Schedule will require flexibility to work either day or night shift depending

Performs other duties as assigned.
