Summary

Under the direction of the Mill Manager, this position is responsible for controlling all access to the complexes and ensuring all oncoming vehicles have been disinfected prior to entry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure animal health and welfare by controlling access to the complexes and ensuring all oncoming vehicles have gone through a decontamination and disinfection process.
  • Prepare and distribute biosecurity kits for all visitors, vendors, contractors, and service providers.
  • Perform daily inspections of pressure washer, truck/car wash, and related equipment.
  • Inspect all high pressure hoses and fittings and truck/car wash equipment periodically for cuts, wear, and reports any defects to Mill Manager or Maintenance department for replacement.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with company and OHA standards.
  • Report needed safety and equipment supplies for assigned area to the Mill manager.
  • Secure entrance to property by controlling traffic to and from buildings and grounds.
  • Ensure authorization and documentation for entry before admitting any visitors, vendors, contractors, and service providers.
  • Notify departments of truck arrivals, ensure PO numbers are matching and ensure the truck is sealed if needed.
  • Document and properly tracks chemical usage.
  • Notify the Manager of presence of unauthorized vehicles
  • Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create bio-security concerns or hazards. Report any concerns to the Mill Manager.
  • Uses pressure washer to disinfect all incoming visitor traffic, if manual decontamination is needed. Oversee the decontamination and disinfection of all oncoming vehicles using the automatic truck/car wash.
  • Perform daily inspections of company vehicle (if applicable) at the beginning of every shift.
  • Ensure biosecurity by decontaminating and disinfecting all company vehicles that are kept on site daily.

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalency required.
  • Valid Driver's License required
  • Technical Training (required and provided)
  • Working knowledge of the pressure washer and its components to ensure a safe operation
  • Operation of an automatic truck/car wash.
  • Reading and using an SDS Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to read, speak and write English is required
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish and English preferred, but not required
  • Ability to operate handheld radio.
  • Ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public.
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas verbally and in writing so others will understand.
  • Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately, and react accord to Company policy and procedures.
  • Must be dependable and reliable.
  • Ability to interact with individuals from diverse ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds.

  • Strong ability to work alone or with little supervision.
  • Ability and willingness to have several associated projects occurring at the same time Physical Demands Stand and walk constantly; grip, grasp, push, pull, reach, bend, stoop, lift up to 60 pounds frequently; sit, climb, lift up to 50 pounds occasionally. Must be able to climb up to 150ft by ladder. Work Environment Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and airborne particles. Employee may work in outside environment where temperatures vary seasonally. Clothing must be worn based on seasonal weather conditions. The noise lev l in the work environment is usually moderate. Certain areas may be loud enough to require ear protection. All personal protective equipment will be provided and required during certain working conditions and in certain areas. The employee is occasionally exposed to high places.
