THE ROLE: The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for designing, optimizing and managing the systems used for gas meter manufacturing. This position will interact daily in cross functional teams as well as corporate support teams to facilitate the integration of advanced technologies/Industry 4.0, such as advanced data analytics and artificial intelligence automation. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge

  • Development of how to optimize assembly and manufacturing processes through lean tools; problem solving, automated poka-yoke error proofing, standard work and work instructions

  • Designing, optimizing and managing the systems used in manufacturing

  • Installing, configuring, testing and maintaining operating systems, application software and system management tools (such as dashboard reporting)

  • Compliance with all relevant safety regulations and standards

  • Ability to train and instruct skilled personnel on the setup and operation of operator interface systems (HMIs) and fault recoveries of those systems

  • Participate in defect pareto analysis and lost time analysis problem solving

  • Project planning and execution of AMR integrated solutions for site manufacturing

  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

  • Participation in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Science degree required

  • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience

  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, ability to work independently, and team player.

  • Highly motivated with excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.

  • Strong customer focus and engagement to ensure optimum working relationships.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

SALARY:
