Microbiology Lab Technician (Entry Level)

Job Description

As a Microbiology Lab Technician, your primary role will be to perform and document routine tasks related to sample processing and assays using written operating procedures, standard laboratory methods, and basic laboratory techniques. You will be expected to conduct specific procedures and tests, both within and outside of the laboratory, that require applied knowledge and practical skills learned from on-the-job experience. Additionally, you will assist with and occasionally perform specialized and non-routine tests and assays while maintaining records of such work. The role includes a responsibility to provide support to the laboratory department by performing a variety of Laboratory processes. You will be required to assure the quality of results by assisting with the establishment and maintenance of QA documents, plans, and ICPs. You will also be expected to identify and resolve process or analytical methodology problems, and assist in write-up, review, and documentation for processes or methods.

Hours are 1st shift, either Mon-Fri or Tues-Sat.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or similar

• Must be able to work individually or as part of a team

• Excellent communication skills

• Some experience in the food industry is preferred

Work Environment

You will be working in a team-oriented lab environment. The exact hours are yet to be determined but will be either Monday to Friday or Tuesday to Saturday, with the possibility of up to 5 hours of overtime.
