L2 Aviation Production Value Stream Manager in Dripping Springs, Texas

Position: Production Value Stream Manager Location : Dripping Springs, TX (Austin, TX area) Description: Expanding Avionics Systems Integration Company seeks Production Value Stream Manager to lead the value stream to source, stock, kit and assemble/manufacture wiring harnesses, electrical parts, sheet metal parts and other required items for aircraft installation. Primary Responsibilities (The standard duties include but are not limited to): Oversee performance of manufacturing operations such as production assembly/test and inspection of components, harnesses and installation kits. Planning, assignment, generation, scheduling, tracking of tasking for kitting, planning, purchasing and production personnel. Ownership of supply chain relationships, agreements and pricing improvements. Daily oversight of personnel. Advance planning/tracking of resources. Coordination between the customer, L2 resources and Production Value Stream as required. Development/documentation of any required processes and procedures to improve operations. Review and approval of timesheets for all Production Value Stream related personnel/activities. Address all personnel issues, complaints and concerns as appropriate. Elevate any issues, complaints and concerns to Executive Leadership as required. Scheduling of vacation and other compensated time off to ensure no interference with delivery commitments. Must also be familiar with production activities to include: Small sub assembly work, mechanical and electrical, cable manufacture Prepare wires, parts, components and structures to assemble aircraft electrical/avionics wire harness and subassemblies Strip, crimp, splice, tin and/or solder wires and install into connectors Perform electrical bonding of structures for the purpose of grounding electrical parts Assemble electrical/avionics parts and components of basic to moderate complexity, for example, amp connectors, coaxial connectors and triax connectors Route wires on harness form board and prepare wires for installation of secondary connectors Verify proper routing and secure wire harness Perform dress out activities of wire harness and/or electrical/avionics subassembly Prepare wires, parts, components and structures to assemble aircraft electrical/avionics wire harness and subassemblies Will be required to work with engineering, quality, program management and other associates to a rigorous production schedule Enjoys the challenges of working projects that vary greatly and have distinct potential to require significant changes or alterations in mid-stream, remaining flexible and adaptable. Must pass 10-year security clearance background verification and submit to company’s DOT/FAA Part 145 Drug and Alcohol Abuse Program. Preferred Qualifications: High school diploma or trade equivalent Minimum 1-year experience as an assembler in a manufacturing environment Harness, Panel or Kit assembly experience Aerospace or aircraft Electrical and or Mechanical assembly experience (preferred) Understanding and familiarity with handling electrostatic devices and components Solder experience (solder certification to IPC-610 and/or J-STD-001 desirable) Ability to read color-codes, assembly and harness drawings Advanced computer skills Excellent communication skills Must be able to work with minimum supervision Must be detail oriented within a fast-paced environment Must be willing to take on new tasks amid a changing environment Ability to meet or exceed deadlines Experience working in conformance with a quality system and being accountable to internal and external Quality entities. Experience with AS9100 and/other LEAN manufacturing techniques and processes. Dependable Must be able to work overtime and weekends as necessary Must be legally able to work in USA and supply required supporting documentation.
