Rise Baking Company Pre-Scale in Douglasville, Georgia

Job Purpose

A Pre-Scale Operator is responsible for measuring proper quantities of raw materials for use in production of baked goods to the hundredth of a pound as well as ensuring the accuracy of each recipe

Essential Functions

  • Verify accurate ingredients for the preparing of batches, Load accurate ingredients in proper amounts into vessels.

  • Responsible for the accurate operation of computer system as required in the pre-scale process. Performs data entry into the SAP system as needed and follows system instructions for batches. Will operate scanners and scan all ingredients according to batch cards and SOP’s.

  • Operates auxiliary equipment to as needed for the production of product. Operate vessels in a safe manner according to manual/training/batch card instructions to ensure high quality and food safe product.

  • Responsible for monitoring process of bulk ingredients to include flour, sugar, oils and colors.

  • Responsible for the attainment of all production metrics set by management.

  • Responsible for communicating to lead or supervisor any quality, safety and food safety issues within their department and/or plant.

  • Responsible for making any and all approved adjustments to batch for quality purposes.

  • Responsible for maintaining workstation neat and organized in accordance with GMP’s, housekeeping standards and food safety requirements.

  • Perform all the above tasks in a safe manner by following company GMP’s, SOP’s IFS or other food safety requirements and safety regulations.

  • Responsible for the use of rework or out of date product according to dispositions and direction of the quality team and production supervisors.

  • Comply with all food safety requirements, training, policies, and procedures

  • Ensure products meet the requirements of the SQF Food Safety Code by reporting to a leader, supervisor, or manager any instances or conditions that would negatively affect the products quality, food safety, or regulatory requirements.

  • Back up for this position is other Pre Scale Technicians and Warehouse Manager.

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications (Education/Experience)

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience working with SAP is preferred.

  • A team player.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to work well with minimal supervision
