Title: Ignition Automation Developer

Location: Detroit, MI (hybrid)

Our client, a global manufacturing company, is seeking a talented Ignition Automation Developer to join their dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects and contribute to the development of innovative automation systems using Ignition by Inductive Automation.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and deploy scalable Ignition projects tailored to meet specific business needs across our network of 30 different plants.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and integrate Ignition solutions with existing systems, focusing on optimizing plant operations.

• Customize Ignition modules and scripts to optimize performance and functionality in industrial environments.

• Implement best practices for software configuration management, version control, and documentation, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Ignition projects during deployment and post-implementation phases, including on-site support at plant locations.

• Travel to various plant locations primarily within the Midwest region (MI, OH, IN) will be required, with occasional travel outside the region or country (passport preferred).

Requirements:

• Proven experience as an Ignition Automation Developer or similar role in industrial automation.

• Proficiency in Ignition platform components including Vision, Perspective, SQL databases, scripting (Python, Java), and Ignition Edge.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment, with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to diverse plant conditions.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field is preferred.

• Ideal candidate will have a passport and willingness to travel internationally, though this is not mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ignition Certification (Inductive University) or equivalent industry certifications.

• Experience with MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) integration and IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things) technologies.

• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and project management tools.
