The Iowa Office of Civil Rights (IOCR) is seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual to join our team as aCivil Rights Education and Outreach Coordinatorto coordinate the education and outreach activities for the Iowa Office of Civil Rights.

Position Overview:
As a Civil Rights Education and Outreach Coordinator at the IOCR, your expertise will be invaluable in providing support to the Office, as well as contributing to the overall mission of the Agency. This position will be a key player in the enforcement of civil rights laws within the state of Iowa, providing professional level program work by planning and leading the IOCR’s education and outreach activities, including identifying training opportunities, engaging stakeholders through outreach activities, and liaising with the Iowa Civil Rights Commission.
Key Responsibilities:
Education and Training: Leads education efforts for the IOCR, both internally for staff and externally for stakeholders.
Outreach: Engages stakeholders by representing the IOCR at relevant festivals and conferences - some travel required.
Liaison: Serve as the liaison between the agency and the Iowa Civil Rights Commission, working as the primary contact for the commissioners.
Preferred Qualifications:
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Experience leading workshops, presentations, or classes.
Experience in identifying relevant funding opportunities

Minimum Qualification Requirements
Applicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification:
1) Six years of full-time work experience in the administration or operation/execution (i.e., providing consultation and/or technical assistance to stakeholders, research and analysis, or enforcement of program guidelines/policies/procedures) of a program (i.e., the provision of a service or an administrative oversight/enforcement responsibility).
2) All of the following (a and b):
a. A total of four years of education and full-time experience (as described in number one), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university course work in any field equals one year of full-time experience; and
b. A total of two years of graduate-level education and full-time experience (as described in part a), where twenty-four semester hours of accredited graduate college or university course work in any field equals one year of full-time experience.
3) Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes eighteen months of full-time work as a Program Planner 1.
