Description

A small landscaping company in the Des Moines area is in search of a meticulous Bookkeeper to join their team in Des Moines, Iowa. This role is at the heart of our financial operations, ensuring the smooth running of our accounting and financial tasks along with a few office administrative tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and daily financial transactions

• Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process

• Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are accounted for and accurately reflected in the company’s financial system

• Prepare and send invoices to clients

• Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding invoices

• Process and record payments received from clients and payments made to suppliers

• Calculate and process employee payroll

• Ensure compliance with all payroll laws and regulations

• Maintain payroll records and handle employee queries regarding payroll

• Monitor and categorize company expenses

• Prepare expense reports and assist in managing the company’s budget

Requirements

• Degree in accounting or related field preferred

• 5+ years bookkeeping/accounting experience
