We are looking for a dedicated Subsurface Utility Coordinator Investigator to grow with our collaborative team and work on a variety of mapping and land development projects.

Based in Colorado, you’ll have the opportunity to work on a field crew to work on a vast array of large infrastructure projects while investigating and identifying subsurface utilities.

As a Subsurface Utility Coordinator Investigator , we will ask you to:

  • Work primarily in the field using Radio-Frequency Electromagnetic Induction (RFEMI) equipment to locate subsurface utilities in a variety of environments.

  • Perform field investigations in accordance with ASCE 38-22 Standard Guidelines for the Collection and Depiction of Existing Subsurface Utility Data

  • Follow project health and safety plans. Work in a safe manner.

  • Understand the project goals, scope of work, and client expectations.

  • Follow department and project quality processes.

  • Take field notes and create field sketches.

  • Assist land surveyors during data collection of utility marks.

  • Perform utility surveys in the field using GPS and Robotic Total Station equipment.

  • Enter field data into field or office databases.

  • Communicate findings and analysis to engineers and other geomatics disciplines.

  • Work as a team player and contribute to an exceptional culture.

The base salary range for this position is $25.96/hour to $40.53/hour. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Good social and communication skills

  • Ability to travel

  • Ability to pass drug screen and background checks

  • Reputation as a trusted and respected member of the utility or geophysical community

Ideally, you'll also have:

  • 2 years of contract locating or SUE experience

  • Proficiency with cable and pipe (radio frequency) locating equipment

  • Familiar with electromagnetic, ground penetrating radar, magnetic and other geophysical prospecting techniques and equipment

  • Degree, certificate or completed technical training

  • Experience with surveying, CAD, or GIS
