Job Summary

POWER Engineers, Inc. is seeking a part-time Social Media intern focusing on Security Awareness to support our continued improvement in information security governance, risk, and compliance. This position is a member of our Information Security Governance Department (ISGD) and is a junior-level role for an aspiring marketing or communications professional.

POWER is flexible in our work environment and the ISGD team is geographically dispersed. We welcome work-from-home, hybrid, and office with flexibility to meet the needs of the team. Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day duties include writing internal communication, tracking, and communicating security awareness updates.

  • Function as the day-to-day marketing contact for logistical coordination of special campaigns and internal communications.

  • Create engaging and visually appealing content for social media platforms, including posts, graphics, videos, and stories

  • Assist in the development of marketing collateral with a spin on how the everyday person is affected by Internet Scams

  • Analyze campaign performance and provide recommendations for future support.

  • Evaluate and provide feedback on POWER's security awareness presence. Review content calendars and propose ideas for social contests.

  • Digital Photo and Video Editing

  • Assist in preparing and delivering training materials

  • Assist in preparing presentations

In addition to working under the guidance of experienced team members, the selected intern will also participate in sessions designed to develop your skills and provide networking opportunities. Those sessions include:

  • Professional Development sessions focused on resume writing, interview tips, building a LinkedIn profile, and more.

  • Early Talent Speaker Series where leaders speak to interns about their role, vision for the company, and career path, offer career advice, and a Q&A session.

  • Fun Friday activities where interns company-wide join to network and have some fun while doing it.

Required Education/Experience

  • In pursuit of a degree with an emphasis in Marketing, Communications, or Information Security.

  • Proficiency in graphic design and video editing tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.)

  • Strong skills in Office 365, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Willing to learn Security Awareness in depth.

  • Strong social media skills.

  • Ability to work 9:00 am-12:00 am MST.

  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • A high degree of creativity.

  • Must be curious, willing to learn/fail fast, and love to research.

  • Self-motivation with good organizational skills and exacting attention to detail.

  • Ability to grasp quickly and multi-task.

Salary DOE: The pay range for this position is $20 - $30 per hour; however, base pay may be higher or lower depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This figure does not include additional compensation such as health benefits, vacation, 401k, etc.
