Job Summary: As a Direct Support Professional, you will work in both Specialized Habilitation and Community Connections. Are you a person who loves connecting out in the community? This person supports adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities in accessing a wide variety of community activities, focusing on the interests and preferences of the individuals receiving services including work and learning opportunities.

Roundup Fellowship's Specialized Adult Day Program emphasizes on the importance of promoting independence through the development of daily living skills, social skills, domestic skills, and integration into the community through curriculum-based activities that supports individual choice while promoting independence and self-worth.

Duties/Responsibilities: Uphold the mission and values, policies, and procedures of Roundup Fellowship. Provide direct assistance, supervision, training, and support needed by program participants for completion of activities of daily living (e.g., toileting, eating, personal hygiene, etc.). Maintain a safe and clean environment including daily cleaning and care of agency vehicles and Roundup office area used by the program participants. Participate in activities with the program participants. Participate with the team in development and implementation of Individual Service and Support Plan. Commitment to company values and adherence to policies. Coordinate other resources as needed including support in arranging and/or directly providing transportation for participants. Administering Medications. Provide Gastrostomy-Tube feeding. Complete appropriate documentation on time for assigned caseload. Facilitate and monitor activities consistent with Individual Service Plan goals and objectives for assigned caseload. Model and promote appropriate work behavior and responsible social interactions. Participate in the organizations Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) process. Provide feedback to the management team when there are concerns about policies and procedures potentially re-traumatizing program participants. Responsible for supporting and maintaining a physically and psychologically safe environment. Uphold principles of the trauma informed care of Roundup Fellowship. Participate in training and events that specifically address the intersection of trauma with culture, history, race, gender, location, and language. Recognize the impact of vicarious trauma on the workforce and continually assess in supervision signs and symptoms of vicarious trauma as well as self-care plans. Other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: High school graduate (or equivalent). 25 years old and above. One-year experience with individuals with developmental disabilities OR two years of college level coursework with human service emphasis, preferred. Ability to read, write and speak the English language for required paperwork, testing and professional communication. Valid Colorado Driver's License, and satisfactory driving records. Satisfactory FBI and CBI and CAPS records check.

Physical and Mental Demands: Requires sitting, standing, bending, and reaching in providing support to program participants with a variety of mobility challenges and program participant personal care assistance. May require the ability to lift 50 lbs. in lifting and transferring program participants. Requires normal range of vision and hearing for adequately supervising program participants. Must be able to resolve problems, handle conflict and make effective decisions under pressure. Must be mentally adaptable and flexible in dea ing with a variety of program participants with challenging behaviors. Push wheelchairs. Emotional stability and personal maturity are important attributes in this position.
