Reports To:Shop Supervisor Department:Del Rio

Essential Responsibilities The Parts Clerk, under the direction of the shop supervisor, is responsible for inventory control, ordering heavy duty diesel parts for buses, trucks, and equipment, logging data into company-wide systems, and preparing P. Os and invoices.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Responds to requests made from mechanics and shop supervisor to locate heavy duty bus and truck parts from our inventory.
  • Assists mechanics in identifying required heavy duty diesel parts.
  • Picks up parts from local auto shops.
  • Oversees inventory by supplying, organizing, and familiarizing oneself with companys product, materials, and auto parts.
  • Regularly performs cycle counts.
  • Orders parts and prepares P.O.s
  • Research heavy duty bus and truck parts based on special requests from shop supervisor.
  • Communicates with vendors for price quotes.
  • Additional cross-functional duties as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid drivers license
  • Minimum 1 year of inventory control experience
  • Strong computer skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to recognize auto parts
  • Experience with ordering heavy duty diesel parts is a plus
  • Mechanical background is a plus

Must be able to:

  • Carry, pull, and push up to 50 pounds of dead weight
  • Climb up and down a ladder
  • Sit, stand, stoop, kneel, squat, crouch, and/or crawl
  • Twist or turn in confined spaces
