This position is for an Industrial Engineer with specific welding knowledge at the Collins Aerospace, Decorah Iowa manufacturing location for the Overheat and Continuous Fire Detection team. The primary focus of this role will be to support and lead the welding activities on multiple laser and tig welding situations. The site is NADCAP certified, and this engineer will help lead and develop new processes and introduce new technologies to the production line to improve yield, production efficiencies and reduce cost. This person will need to be a self-starter and be willing to dive into complex machine and tool development situations to create innovative solutions for the weld processes and production line. Relocation assistance is available.

What You Will Do:

  • Provide factory floor support and maintain/improves production processes.

  • Provide welding guidance to the support team and production floor to ensure quality processes are followed.

  • Adhere to all Safety, Environmental, Quality and Production standards to ensure processes and machines are within compliance.

  • Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control to ensure compliance and effective production, including Key Characteristics and Key Process Inputs

  • Ability to work with cross functionally with operations, maintenance, quality and design engineering to implement robust processes.

  • Plan, execute (facilitate) and document relatively simple to moderately difficult engineering economics challenges.

  • Maintain awareness of the technological state-of-the-art and of the Company's competitive position in the welding area.

  • Ensure compliance to all procedures and uses change control to mitigate risk

  • Determines maintenance and repair materials required for deployment of new machines/processes

What You Will Learn:

  • The ability to process new Capital Equipment, such as writing capital funding requests, Statement of Work and requirement documents.

  • Deeper knowledge of NADCAP requirements and compliance activities.

  • CORE operating system and frame work within the RTX business system.

Qualifications You Must Have :

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience

  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined here: https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62

  • Minimum of year in a manufacturing environment

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
