ST NORBERT COLLEGE Coordinator of Student Inclusion in DE PERE, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: St. Norbert College, a nationally-ranked, private, Catholic, liberal arts college is seeking a Coordinator of Student Inclusion, Success and Belonging. This position is responsible for supporting the mission of St. Norbert College, the Office of Student Inclusion and Belonging, and the Division of Student Affairs. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Student Inclusion, Success, and Belonging and assists with the development, implementation, and monitoring of programs and events that assist in the engagement, academic success, and retention of underserved students, and offers guidance and support to these populations. The Coordinator of Student Inclusion, Success and Belonging will support retention initiatives for underrepresented, underserved, and 1st generation student populations. This position will embrace the critical role of diversity, equity, and inclusion by delivering co-curricular experiences, building a positive campus community, and supporting student success. This a recurring 10 month position and has off annually in June and July. Specific responsibilities: Partner with the Assistant Director of Student Inclusion, Success, and Belonging and appropriate departments across the college and community partners to develop and advance EDIB initiatives. Assist with coordinating and implementing cultural heritage month events. Lead the Proud to be First program and commuter student initiatives. This responsibility includes developing programs and activities, recruiting student participants, regularly assessing, and addressing the needs of student groups, and incorporating high-impact learning practices. - 30% Plan, implement and lead programs and activities to increase involvement of diverse student populations including, but not exclusive to, First-generation students, Commuter students, Asian/Asian American students, African/Black/African American students, Latinx students, and other underrepresented and marginalized populations as needed. Advise Men of Distinction (MOD) organization and the Black Student Union (BSU) to foster belonging, inclusion, affinity, and campus engagement; develop strong advisory relationships with advisees. - 25% Participate in campus-wide initiatives and collaborations with key campus stakeholders to help foster collaboration. Work directly with the Assistant Director to support the STAR and North STAR program operations. - 15% Provide individual assistance and support to students. Identify and propose strategic recommendations that support the enhancement of campus climate and divisional goals to provide a positive, inclusive and successful student experience, especially those goals with respect to issues of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. - 15% Serve as liaison to various campus departments for recruitment and retention of underrepresented populations, with special emphasis on first year recruitment and first year and sophomore retention. 15% Perform additional duties as assigned and attend College required training. Regular attendance is required. Work in a manner that is aware of personal safety and the safety of others and observes safety, health and sanitation codes, regulations, or practices required by the College or governmental authority. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: - Experience with diverse populations. - 2+ years of experience in developing and implementing student inclusion, success and belonging initiatives. - Comprehensive understanding, appreciation, and support of student life and diversity at a small, private Catholic institution and a commitment to improving the lives of underrepresented students. - Demonstrated leadership in designing and implementing strategic initiatives around diversity, equity, and inclusion and anti-racism that promote success for students, and/or employees, within a complex environment. - Experience in outcomes assessment and cont nual improvement of undergraduate student success initiatives. - Understanding of the national trends and issues related to orientation and transitions in higher education.
