Job Description

Under the direction of the Senior VP of Tax and Accounting, the Senior Tax Accountant will assist the Tax Department team with the following tasks for both corporate and family office functions.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of federal and state tax returns and workpapers for TRT Holdings and affiliates. Tax preparation will include C corporations, partnerships, trusts, individual and not-for-profit.

  • Assist with fixed assets and depreciation calculations.

  • Assist with quarterly tax estimates and payments for all entities.

  • Assist with ASC 740 calculations.

  • Assist with audits or correspondence from taxing authorities.

  • Tax research and special projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Ability to utilize research and tax preparation software (CCH products a plus), advanced computer skills, including high proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with emphasis in Excel, Word and Outlook.

  • The ability to assimilate a high volume of information with attention to detail.

  • The ability to handle difficult time pressures.

  • General ledger package software knowledge a plus.

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills with ability to work independently.

  • Candidate should have good interpersonal skills including the ability to work as a team member, flexibility and positive attitude in a dynamic work environment, be a self-starter with strong analytical and documentation skills, as well as possess good communication skills in order to interact with individuals at all levels within the organization and external advisors.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting; CPA strongly preferred.

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of professional experience working in Public Accounting.

  • Understand and experience in preparing federal and state tax returns.

  • Knowledge of real estate, hospitality, and construction accounting practices preferred.
