We are accepting applications for the role of Assistant Controller, which is based in Dallas, Texas. This role falls within the realm of financial management and offers an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic Real Estate Investment Firm. As an Assistant Controller, you will be primarily responsible for handling various accounting activities at the REIT and fund-level, and assisting with investor relations.

Responsibilities:

• Handle REIT and fund-level accounting activities, including recording loan or bond income and line of credit activity.

• Assist in the calculation or review of fees, such as advisory, incentive, and acquisition or disposition fees on real estate investments.

• Collaborate with the Senior Director to ensure that middle and upper-tier entity activity is recorded promptly.

• Prepare and/or review investor reporting in Institutional Limited Partners Association (ILPA) format.

• Work with the Investor Relations team to provide information to current and prospective investors.

• Assist outside tax firms with preparing schedules, providing underlying support, and/or performing reviews as needed.

• Manage the accounts payable process and supervise the accounts payable accountant.

• Interact with internal and external customers, other accounting team members, asset managers, property managers, and all necessary departments to ensure prompt resolution of issues.

• Act as primary administrator on Yardi for adding users and monthly close processes.

• Demonstrate leadership skills by volunteering for special projects for the department.

Skills:

•Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Skills in Yardi and Excel

• Understanding of Accounting Functions

• RE Fund, REIT and/or Loan Accounting

• Bachelors in Accounting, CPA preferred, Knowledge of Auditing

• Familiarity with Budget Processes

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is essential

• Knowledge of Yardi software is crucial

• Ability to manage Accounting Functions effectively

• Hands-on experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is required

• Solid understanding and experience in Fund Accounting, REIT and Loan accounting

• Experience in Budget Processes is necessary
