We are looking for an exceptional leader to inspire the team responsible for the overall editorial focus and strategy for internal communications for our field teams. This role will drive our communications programming and content strategy end to end across all our key touch points including our internal social media platform, our field meetings (ex. Daily Downloads), videos and our written communications. This work will connect the many streams of communications to our internal audience, and be a leading voice in crafting our future.

Description

As a member of the Communications leadership team, you will play a critical role defining the future of our platforms and touchpoints, acting as a key voice in identifying and prioritizing new features. You will help us understand how to use data to inform editorial and creative decisions, and how to curate content from our partners. This new role partners upstream with business planning teams to understand the focus areas and key initiatives to build a comprehensive communications plan and touchpoint strategy. And, will work with our partners across Retail to ensure we amplify our key values and that the right thing lands at the right time. This leader ensures our teams hear from Retail leadership and that we have a comprehensive multi touchpoint communication strategy. Analyzing the performance of our communication strategies to inform future plans and make edits to the strategy as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 7-10+ years of journalism and editorial experience in digital media

  • 4+ years of leadership experience leading editorial teams and navigating change in a large organization.

  • Experience handling and implementing an editorial calendar and strategy, experience in media or newsroom setting a plus

  • Ability to run an editorial process that requires the ability to handle details on hundreds of communications monthly while also tying back to strategy and key messages

  • Experience deriving insights from analytics to influence editorial decisions

  • Ability to set research plans to understand how audiences consume and experience digital content, and use the data to advocate on the audiences behalf

  • Expert ability to understand business challenges and formulate effective editorial plans that support the audience and improve business results

  • Outstanding ability to grow internal relationships across a wide range of teams, and gain their trust in your recommendations and guidance.

  • Demonstrated track record making tough calls and influencing business partners

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience with social media plans and or video a plus

  • Experience working with international peers to define global strategies

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $182,200 and $274,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
