Amazon Senior Financial Analyst, PLC Finance in Culver City, California

Description

Amazon is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to support the Public Policy, Legal and Communications (PLC) team to budget, forecast, analyze trends, create metrics and perform analysis to support strategic business decisions. This role will require partnering with the business, influencing Senior Leaders using data and insights, and creating a robust finance structure to help manage a budget. This role is based in the Corporate G&A FP&A team.

The successful candidate will develop/refine models and metrics packages, in addition to handling day-to-day activities such as forecasting/planning, month end close, and ad-hoc projects. You will leverage your educational and applied work experience to help streamline reporting, as well as identify improvement and prioritization opportunities within these business areas. This also includes ownership of month-end close processes, forecast guidance and facilitation of financial review meetings with the various business partners.

This candidate will be an independent thinker who can make convincing, data-driven arguments. With a strong bias for action, this individual will be able to work equally well with teams that are nontechnical in-nature. This person will have very sound judgment and refine existing models as needed, and will also be able to dive deep and own relationships with 2-3 teams.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills working with multiple peer groups and levels of management

  • Strong financial acumen including experience with forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis

  • Experience performing financial and ad hoc analyses using advanced Excel functionality and providing recommendations based on results to senior management for strategic decision-making

  • Excellent grasp of corporate finance fundamentals

  • Strong resourcefulness and ability to find or develop compelling data given limited resources and time

  • Experience and ability to use Cognos, TM1/Galaxy, Brady, or similar tools

  • Detail-oriented and data-driven

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $56,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
