Job Description

An employer is seeking a Sr. Electronics Engineer for a contract to hire opportunity in the Ft. Wright, KY area. This engineer will be joining a GNSS (global navigation satellite systems) company that designs, manufactures, and sells high-precision, geospatial, survey and monitoring products for demanding applications world-wide. The company has HQ in San Jose, CA, but has expanded to the Cincinnati are and is now ready to extend further in surveying, monitoring and other mission critical applications. The current team is looking to expand from 6 engineers to 30 by the end of 2025.

On a day to day basis the Sr. Electronics Engineer will be expected to manage the electronic design process in respect to the HNSS product. The portfolio of products includes OEM boards, smart antennas, post processing chips, UFH radios and data collectors for surveying and engineering. Other duties will include: define GNSS receiver architecture and document block diagrams for RF, ADC, CPU, Memory, ASIC and key functions, create schematics including symbols creator PCB footprints, design custom PCBs, including component placement, routing particular special classes, and PCB routing, perform Design Verification Tests and work with suppliers/contract manufacturers to ensure deadlines are being met. As the team grow the Sr. Electronics engineer can also expect to take on a team of internal and subcontracted individuals.

This position requires to be on site 4-5 days a week, the ability to travel 2-3 times a year to summits and an active US passport.

Skills and Requirements

Bachelors or Masters in engineering

5+ years of PCB design software experience ideally in OrCad. Altium, or Cadence

5+ years of simulation and modeling tools, and signal integrity tools

High-speed multi-gigabit digital system design experience

Hands on experience with lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, signal generator, electronic load, and spectrum analyzers power supply design for GNSS receivers

GNSS receiver module and signal protocol

UHF Radio design null
