Title Financial Services Analyst Description Summary: The Financial Services Analyst plays a crucial role in achieving our purpose of being our customers' competitive advantage by controlling credit exposure, receiving timely payments and minimizing risk of customer disputes for Van Meter. Key responsibilities include analyzing financial information for customer accounts, conducting collection calls. This individual promotes our culture, our 5 P's and our purpose to be our customer's competitive advantage. Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions: Analyze credit data and financial statements to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit Prepare reports that include the degree of risk involved in extending credit Evaluate customer records and recommend payment based on payment history and purchase activity Minimize bad debt risk and maximize accounts receivable collections Confer with credit association and other business representatives to exchange credit information Review individual or commercial customer files to identify and select delinquent accounts for collection Consult with customers to resolve complaints and verify financial and credit transactions Negotiate and document customer disputes to resolution Provide customer service and develop relationships with internal/external customers and suppliers Actively participate and communicate with the Credit Team Other related duties as assigned Critical Success Factors: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills via phone, email and in person are required Exhibits effective listening and organizational skills Self-motivated with strong problem solving ability Detail orientated Ability to multi-task and juggle multiple priorities with strict deadlines Ability to work quickly and effectively under time constraints Use of independent judgment and creativity applied to resolution of task Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities Excellent creative thinking skills; self-starter; solution-oriented Drives for continuous improvement Job Requirements/Specifications: Associates Degree, Bachelor's Degree preferred 2-4 years of experience preferred Experience in the use of Excel spreadsheets Excellent writing and communication skills Work Environment & Physical Demands: Occasional (less than 1 time per week): Walking Some (less than 1/3 of the time): Works with others Frequent (from 1/3 to 2/3s of the time): Twisting upper body and customer contact Consistent (more than 2/3s of the time): Sitting, working with hands & fingers, talking, hearing, work alone and work indoors The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by an incumbent.
