Experian Consumer Services (ECS) is looking to hire a talented Lead UX Writer & Content Strategist who combines an aptitude for clean, intuitive UX copy with a passion for communicating with empathy to all users. An ideal candidate sees content as an integral part of great design and has acted as a strong advocate for content within a product ecosystem. You understand that how you say something and how you see something are two sides of the same coin, and you can seamlessly translate visual style into tone and voice (or vice versa).

 

You will sit at the intersection between UX design and content strategy, partnering with UX product designers to create customer experiences that are not just clear and coherent, but also make a positive impact to consumers' lives. Your work will touch product content, ecommerce/marketing, email and push campaigns, customer support, and more. You'll own complex content projects from end to end, informing the strategy and helping establish guidelines and procedures with minimal oversight. You will also serve as a role model on the team, including mentoring and collaborating with less senior writers.

Responsibilities:

  • Create high-quality content that engages and supports users—reflecting UX best practices, the Experian consumer brand, and business goals

  • Lead large-scale, complex or ambiguous content initiatives in partnership with product, design, CRM, and user research teams

  • Be a team expert in house style, advising teammates and making nuanced decisions around voice and tone to match different user journeys and personas

  • Contribute to and inform the larger strategy behind individual projects. Devise solutions with future growth and scale in mind

  • Generate content ideas that push conversion forward, and iterate based on data-driven insights

  • Continually raise the bar for content quality by mentoring and giving feedback to other content strategists

  • Help establish and update UX content processes

  • 9+ years of experience in professional writing and content strategy, including 5+ years of UX writing

  • UX certification welcome but not required

  • An impressive portfolio showcasing UX writing and content strategy work, as well as a demonstrated leadership role in projects

  • Exceptional writing skills and attention to detail around voice, tone, grammar, and style

  • Skilled at collaborating with product designers and product managers in an agile environment

  • Highly organized and independent, showing initiative to establish procedures and run projects with minimal guidance

  • Skilled at navigating relationships with stakeholders, including knowing how and when to defend content choices amid complex feedback

  • Well versed in applying a style guide to writing in different mediums

  • Experience giving constructive feedback to other writers

  • Technical skills: Figma, Jira, Experience working within a design system
