Defense Unicorns Test Engineer in Colorado Springs, Colorado

Mid DevOps Test Engineer: $153,000 - $195,000 Senior DevOps Test Engineer: $185,000 - $246,000
Role Description: This role will work within Defense Unicorns' Delivery segment and will be working to provide Mission Heroes (customers) with secure DevOps solutions. Specifically, this role will work with helping build tests for bare metal Kubernetes (K8s) clusters and AWS clusters that host defensive cyberspace applications. Defense Unicorns is looking to add a DevOps Engineer with testing experience to help architect and build various tests into a CI/CD based ecosystem. Tests can vary from unit, integration, end-to-end, smoke, and chaos.
Responsibilities: Be the test expert on a team of 10 engineers of varying disciplines that takes input from all members and facilitates finding the strongest solutions Work on a cross-functional team of engineers utilizing DevOps and agile disciplines to build a larger system Help architect a test strategy that balances speed and confidence in released products to include helping recommend testing tools Help deploy the tests into a CI/CD pipeline architecture Help with manual tests that are not appropriate to run in a pipeline architecture Travel Expectations/Requirements: 10-15%

Preferred Experience and Qualifications: Strong foundations in IT Fundamentals of a full stack and system network Have a current Secret or Top Secret clearance Experience writing tests in Go Language Experience with at least one of the examples for each category in the "technologies we use" section to provide full stack assistance What we work on for this role: Host OS: Ubuntu & RHEL Kubernetes: RKE2, K3D, K3S, and MicroK8s Applications & add-ons: ELK, Neuvector, Trivy, Grype, KeyCloak, Kyverno, Istio, metallb, ngnix, prometheus, promtail, loki, and Grafana Languages: Go, Python, Ansbile, Yaml, Bash, and Terraform Development tools: GitHub and GitLab
